Awesome things are afoot at Distortion as Cyclone Eye joins the team!
Cyclone Eye is Geoff Pinckney (Tenek, The Nine, AlienSix) and Sebastian Deruwez (Shiny Darkness, Pulse).
“I’ve been a huge nerd for anything Geoff has done for the past 30 or so years. Tenek was one of our earliest signings. His talent is beyond compare. I can’t wait to see what else he does with Seb!” exclaims label owner Jim Semonik.
Geoff and Seb’s worlds have been orbiting each other for many years and finally in 2022 they decided to form an alliance and create Synthpop pulling from their many years of experience. Creating music with energy and attitude, melancholy and motion.
Geoff handles production with a meticulous ear for atmosphere and groove, crafting tracks that feel like lost transmissions from another decade, while Seb brings lyrical depth—stories of real world experiences, hopes and dreams.
The duo leans into a distinct aesthetic—one part retro futurism, one part emotional honesty.
They’re not chasing trends. They’re building a mood, a world, and a catalog of songs that move and demand attention.
