Distortion is pleased to announce the signing of Normoria from Sweden. Distortion became aware of Normoria when they met label owner, Jim Semonik in Seattle at the Mechanismus Festival in 2023. 2 years later, Normoria shared the stage with Jim’s band, Red Lokust at that very same festival.
Jim says of Normoria: “i loved them live and Angel and Gustav are lovely people and totally fit the vibe of what Distortion does.” Look for Normoria to release their debut track on February 12.
NORMORIA is a Swedish band whose uniquely dramatic sound fuses various styles, primarily within the Industrial and Dark electronic music genres. Recently relocated to Seattle, WA, after performing in several U.S. states, Normoria has spent years captivating audiences across Europe with their unapologetic themes and energetic performances. Their sound is powered by Johan Willenheimer’s bass, Gustav Hedberg’s guitar, their new American bassist Will Purcell, and the versatile vocals of singer-songwriter Angel Moonshine.
Expressive power and a blend of obscure and electrifying sounds are signature features of the band. Normoria is known for tackling diverse topics, standing against discrimination, and advocating for animal rights, all while delivering high-energy electronic beats for the dance floor. Their songs have appeared on numerous compilations worldwide, making waves in the Native25 and Deutsche Alternative Charts (DAC). Normoria has also collaborated with artists such as Damien of Alien Vampires, Erk Aicrag of Hocico, and UK artist Matt Hart.
Founded by Angel Moonshine in 2017, Normoria has performed at various European festivals and shared stages with acclaimed acts like Test Dept, Priest, Alien Vampires, Icon Of Coil, Agonoize, Project Pitchfork, Beborn Beton, L’ame Immortelle, Suicide Commando, and many more. Currently, the band is working on new music and actively seeking show dates worldwide.
